Microsinsurance Centre

Since 2000, The MicroInsurance Centre has been working with insurers and MFIs (in the broadest sense) developing partnerships that result in low-income people around the world gaining access to microinsurance products.

We have worked in numerous countries on several different types of activities.

Long term relationships where we work with a partnership from concept to rollout as with CARE, GLICO, and rural banks in Ghana.
Short term activities such as with Compartamos in Mexico, or the MicroFund for Women in Jordan.
Case studies of microinsurance providers such as Card MBA in the Philippines, and AIG Uganda.
Country studies assessing the potential for successful microinsurance as in Uganda, Georgia, and Albania.

The MicroInsurance Centre is focused on a partnership model of microinsurance provision. This site is intended to provide practical tools to assist in the success of these relationships between regulated insurers, and MFOs and banks.

The MicroInsurance Centre works closely with Microfinance Opportunities, and MicroSave, as well as with the Working Group on Microinsurance.
